Did an amazing job as we'd had birds fly down our chimney, also checked and cleared the other ornamental one, which had a nest in too. The birds will now have to find another home. Brilliant job done

Signs of Hornet Activity Around Your Property

Spotting hornets early can help prevent the situation from becoming dangerous. Look out for the following signs:

• Frequent Hornet Sightings: Regular sightings of large hornets flying around your property, especially near rooflines, trees, or sheds, may indicate a nearby nest.
• Loud Buzzing Sounds: A deeper, louder buzzing noise coming from walls, lofts, or outdoor structures can signal hornet activity.
• Visible Nests: Hornet nests are often found in trees, roof spaces, sheds, or wall cavities and are usually larger than typical wasp nests.
• Aggressive Behaviour: Hornets are more aggressive than other stinging insects, particularly if their nest is disturbed.
• Increased Outdoor Activity: Hornets actively forage for food, especially during warmer months, often around bins, food areas, or gardens.

Preventative Measures

To reduce the risk of hornets nesting on your property, we recommend:

• Seal Entry Points: Close off gaps in roofs, walls, and vents to prevent hornets accessing sheltered areas.
• Secure Food Sources: Keep bins sealed and avoid leaving food or sugary drinks exposed outdoors.
• Maintain Outdoor Areas: Trim trees and remove debris where hornets may look to nest.
• Cover Openings: Install covers on chimneys and vents to reduce potential nesting spots.
• Regular Property Checks: Keep an eye on rooflines, sheds, and garden areas for early signs of activity.
